Literature Text

Kurt Hummel sat in the commons of Dalton Academy with a solemn expression on his face and a bottle of tacky glue in his hands. Clear boxes of rhinestones and other various craft objects sat in disarray in front of him. The small black casket in front of him was already lines with gold glass beads and a well-centered medium-sized gemstone, but Kurt felt the need to perfect the decoration for the casket for his beloved late canary. After all, did you expect his sweet prince to lie in the ground in anything less than what he deserved?
Kurt continued to work as light footsteps came nearer to him.

"What's that?" Blaine Anderson asked curiously, his heart skipping a beat when he saw Kurt hard at work on his project. He'd come down to see Kurt for one reason: to rehearse their duet for Regionals. This mission-no matter how platonic-didn't diminish the simple fact that the freiendly feelings he had for Kurt had deepened, but his just wasn't teh place or time to tell Kurt. Not so close to competition. After rehearsal, Blaine thought, I'll invite him to a movie or something cliched like that.

"I'm decorating Pavarotti's casket," Kurt sighed.

"Well finish up," Blaine replied. "I have the perfect song for our number and we should practice." Kurt smiled to himself. They'd sang together before, but he was still excited to hear what song Blaine had chosen for them.

"Do tell," Kurt said neutrally. Blaine didn't necessarily need to know that Kurt's breath caught in his chest whenever he came into the room.

"Candles," Blaine said slowly, "by 'Hey Monday.'" Kurt's interest was officially peaked. He knew the song well: it was a sort of rock ballad that told a story of getting over somebody you love. It was a welcome change from Blaine's usual choice in Kurt's opinion.

"I'm impressed," Kurt said. "Usually you're so 'Top Forty.'"

"Well, I just wanted something a little bit more emotional," Blaine said shyly as he took a seat next to Kurt. Kurt's brow furrowed concernedly, thinking back to the song that Blaine had chosen and it's subject matter.

"Why did you pick me to sing that song with?" Kurt asked, knowing that Blaine knew that he liked him, so was he trying to tell him something by choosing that particular song? Blaine took a deep breath and closed his eyes, guessing that now was as good a time as any to spill his guts.

"Kurt, there is a moment," Blaine began, pausing to gather the correct words, "when you say to yourself, 'Oh, there you are! I've been looking for you forever.'" Kurt's heart skipped a beat as Blaine grabbed his hand. His eyes darted down to his hand and then back to Blaine's eyes, which bore a look of sincerity and mild aprehension as he continued. "Watching you do 'Blackbird' this week... that was the moment for me... about you. You move me, Kurt, and this duet would just be an excuse to spend more time with you." Kurt's heart stopped completely and his mind was wiped clean of all thought as Blaine leaned in towards him. Blaine closed his eyes and pressed his lips against Kurt's.
Their hearts beat rapidly against Kurt and Blaine's chests. Kurt had been waiting for this moment since he'd first met Blaine, and Blaine was just surprised that he'd found the courage to tell Kurt what had been on his mind for the past two days. Blaine pressed his lips farther into Kurt's and turned his head slightly. This wasn't his first kiss, but it was the only one that wiped his mind of everything but the one he was kissing. The only thing that was real in this moment was Kurt. Kurt moved his hand to Blaine's cheeks and began to move his mouth against Blaine's. He slid his tongue against Blaine's top lip, silently requesting entrance.
Kurt and Blaine's lips made a light smacking sound as they pulled away from eachother. Kurt's hand dropped on the table with a loud thud. Blaine looked into Kurt's clear glasz eyes while Kurt kept his eyes trained on Blaine's lips. Not only had Blaine kissed him-the fact of which he was trying to fathom-but he'd effectively sucked the air out of his lungs. Blaine sat his elbow on the table and rested his face in the knuckles of his fist. Either I just took the chance of a lifetime, Blaine thought to himself, or I've just effectively embarrassed the hell out of myself and ruined a perfectly good friendship.

"We um...we should practice..." Blaine said before taking in a shuddering breath. Kurt breathed in deeply.

"I thought we were," Kurt replied breathlessly. Blaine turned his head and locked eyes once more with Kurt for a split second before their eyes darted to eachothers lips. Without hesitation, they dove in for another passionate kiss.
Kurt swiftly reached his hands up to Blaine's face and slid his fingers into his soft black hair. Blaine gripped Kurt's sides and pulled him closer, wrapping his arms around the taller boy's torso and clutching the nape of his neck. A small groan left Kurt's throat as Blaine moved his hands across his back, sporadically digging his fingertips into Kurt's clothed skin. Kurt slid his hand down Blaine's cheek, neck, and chest until he found the knot of his tie. Gripping it, the tie came slightly undone as he pulled Blaine closer, sucking his top lip almost completely into his mouth. They kissed over and over for several minutes before Blaine twisted a fistful of Kurt's hair in one hand and ran his other hand under Kurt's cardigan. Kurt tightened his grip on Blaine's face and tie as his fingers tensed up. Was this going to far? Kurt thought to himself. Yes, the circles that Blaine was rubbing on the small of his back was turning him on beyond all logic or reaso, but this was only their second kiss. Should I say something, or... Kurt's train of thought was cut off by Blaine's hand sliding up his back and a tongue in his mouth that didn't belong to him. Screw it, Kurt thought as he pulled the knot in the tie down until it cam undone completely. Blaine pulled away when he felt Kurt's slim fingers toying with the top button of his dress shirt.

"Kurt, stop," Blaine panted as he pulled away. Kurt looked Blaine up and down for a moment as he tried to catch his breath.

"Blaine, did I do something wrong? Was I rushing things? I was rushing things, wasn't I?"

"I-I didn't actually mean stop. Just...slow down, please. I don't want to mess anything up by moving too fast," Blaine stammered, caressing the smooth surface of Kurt's face. "I really care about you." A relaxed smile spread across Kurt's face.

"I really like you, Blaine. And I'm sorry if I was pushing too far," Kurt apologized with an unintentional pout. Blaine grinned and kissed Kurt again.

"You are just too precious," Blaine cooed seductively before eyeing Kurt's lips yet again. They kissed again, then lightly made out without noticing Jeff, Nick, and David walking in to what they thought was a rehearsal.

"Aren't we supposed to be arranging the background harmonies for 'Candles?'" Nick asked low enought so Klaine-as he mentally referred to them-couldn't hear him.

"Probably," David mumbled. "Should we say something, or not? We've been pretty much expecting this since Kurt got here, but we also have Regionals this week."

"Wathing them make out is sort of making me uncomfortable, and I want to win," Jeff stated softly before raising his voice. "Hey, Blaine! I don't think that's the correct place to be searching for a Regionals victory!" Blaine pulled away with another loud smack and looked down at Kurt's hands, which lay on his chest.

"So it's finally happened, huh?" David asked as Kurt fixed tie. Kurt gazed sweetly into Blaine's eyes and smiled bashfully, a pink blush covering his face.

"I mean, you two have to be official if you were sucking face like that," Jeff teased. Blaine ran his fingertips down Kurt's arm and interlaced his fingers with Kurt's.

"What do you say, Kurt?" Blaine whispered. "Would you like to do me the honor of being my boyfriend. Officially?"

"Do you even have to ask at this point?" Kurt whispered back smoothly before pecking his new boyfriend's mouth.

"Okay, awesome!" Nick exclaimed. "Can we PLEASE rehearse now?"
This is basically a narrative version of the Klaine kiss from Season Two "Original Song" but I also added in what I think happened during Mercedes' song "Hell to the No" where they cut it off. Hope you like it!

Featherlight smut, but nothing too heavy duty. :)
